The black streaking on a roof is Gloeocapsa magma, a cyanobacteria that eats the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. Pressure washing it strips the granules and voids your shingle warranty.
We follow the ARMA-published soft wash standard: under 100 PSI, correct chemistry, correct dwell, gravity rinse. The streaks are gone by the time we pack up and the granule bed is untouched.
Gutters and downspouts get flushed on the way out, because everything we lifted off the roof ends up in them.

“What PSI will you be running on this surface, and why that number?” If the answer is a shrug or “as high as it needs”, keep calling.
